TeX Collection 2015

Die TEX Collection (Juli 2015) enthält:
proTEXt ist ein einfach zu installierendes TEX-System für MS Windows 2000/XP/Vista/7, basieren auf MiKTEX, TEXnicCenter als Oberfläche und Ghostscript/GSview für die Anzeige von PostScript-Dateien.

TEX Live ist ein umfangreiches TEX-System, zur Installation auf Festplatte oder einem portablem Medium, z.B. USB-Stick (TEX Live kann nicht mehr direkt von dieser DVD benutzt werden), mit Binaries für GNU/Linux (i386, x86_64, PowerPC, Alpha, Sparc), (k)FreeBSD (i386, x86_64), NetBSD (i386), SGI Irix, IBM AIX (PowerPC), Sun Solaris (Sparc, i386, x86_64), MS Windows 2000/ NT/ XP/ Vista/7, Cygwin (i386) und MacOS X (PowerPC, i386).

MacTEX, ein einfach zu installierendes TEXSystem für MacOS X, das neben einem vollständigen TEX Live weitere Programme enthält.

CTAN ist ein weltweites Netzwerk von ftp-Servern für TEX-Software. Auf der DVD befindet sich ein kompletter Abzug des deutschen CTAN-Knotens dante.ctan.org.

The TeX Collection DVD for 2015 will be released in July 2015. The various components are also available over the Internet. It contains the same basic components as in previous years:

• TeX Live: a comprehensive cross-platform TeX system. It includes support for most Unix-like systems, including GNU/Linux and MacOSX, and for Windows.
• MacTeX: an easy to install TeX system for MacOSX, based on TeX Live. It also includes a native Mac installer, the TeXShop front-end, and additional Mac-specific tools.
• proTeXt: an easy to install TeX system for Windows. It is based on MiKTeX, with a detailed document to guide your installation and additional Windows-specific tools.
• CTAN: the Comprehensive TeX Archive Network, a set of servers worldwide making TeX software publicly available. The DVD contains a snapshot of the German CTAN node. The snapshot is available in the TUG members area; it is a strict subset of what is on the public servers.

The TeX Collection DVD contains all of the above software.
All of these projects are done by volunteers. If you'd like to help with development, testing, documentation, etc., please visit the project pages for more information on how to contribute. The TeX Collection is a massive effort.

Thanks to the hundreds of people involved, from all parts of the TeX world: the contributors uploading new packages to CTAN, the CTAN maintainers for providing a central repository to draw from, the people building the binaries on a wide variety of platforms, those helping test the results, the developers supporting the software upon which it all rests, the user group members keeping the infrastructure provided by TUG and all the TeX user groups viable by their support, and Donald Knuth for starting it all.
