Zeitschrift für Orient-Archäologie / Zeitschrift für Orient-Archäologie 9, 2016

The "Zeitschrift für Orient-Archäologie" (ZOrA, ISSN 1868-9078) is a new journal of the Orient-Department of the German Archaeological Institute. It has been published annually since 2008. The ZOrA contains important and substantial contributions about recent international archaeological research. It covers the archaeology of the Levant, Mesopotamia and the Arabian Peninsula. The ZOrA represents a publication medium that emphasizes transregional perpectives in research. In combination with the new publications of ZOrA the other two regionally focused journals by Orient-Department, such as the "Baghdader Mitteilungen" and the "Damaszener Mitteilungen", are ceased.

Sie erscheint seit dem Jahr 2008 jährlich. Die ZOrA enthält ausführliche und grundlegende Beiträge zu den neuesten internationalen Forschungen auf dem Gebiet der Archäologie der Levante, Mesopotamiens und der Arabischen Halbinsel. Die ZOrA stellt ein Publikationsorgan dar, das überregionale Forschungsperspektiven stärker in den Vordergrund rückt. Mit dem Erscheinen der ZOrA wurden die bisherigen regional ausgerichteten Zeitschriften der Orient-Abteilung, Baghdader Mitteilungen und Damaszener Mitteilungen, eingestellt.
