The perfect gift for the Edgar Allan Poe fan, The Complete Tales & Poems of Edgar Allan Poe is an elegant edition boasting the entire Poe catalog.
From the Chartwell Classics series, The Complete Tales & Poems of Edgar Allan Poe features every known literary work from the famous gothic American writer. Edgar Allan Poe is best known as the father of the detective story, but he was also an accomplished poet and tough literary critic whose works span from 1827 to his death in 1849.

Despite Poe's hardships in his personal life, he produced many works that are now considered to be essential to the American literary cannon. His often macabre and dark works include "The Raven," "The Black Cat," "The Tell-Tale Heart," and "Annabelle Lee." This elegant book includes Poe's short stories, melodious poems, literary criticism, essays, and his only full-length novel, The Narrative of A. Gordon Pym. In addition, it also includes a compelling introduction by notable historian and biographer Daniel Stashower.

For Poe fans worldwide, this stunning hardcover edition boasting the entire Poe catalog is the perfect gift.

Edgar Allan Poe (1809–1849) is one of America’s greatest and best-loved writers. Known as the father of the detective story, Poe is perhaps most famous for his short stories—particularly his shrewd mysteries and chilling, often grotesque tales of horror—he was also an extremely accomplished poet and a tough literary critic. Poe’s life was not far removed from the drama of his fiction. Orphaned at a young age, he was raised by a foster family. As a young man, he developed problems with gambling, debts, and alcohol, and was even dismissed from the army. His love life was marked by tragedy and heartbreak. Despite these difficulties, Poe produced many works now considered essential to the American literary canon. Daniel Stashoweris a member of the Baker Street Irregulars and is the author of Teller of Tales: The Life of Arthur Conan Doyle and The Beautiful Cigar Girl: Mary Rogers, Edgar Allen Poe, and the Invention of Murder. He is also a co-editor of several other books about Sherlock Holmes and his creator, including Arthur Conan Doyle: A Life in Letters.
