Editor in Chief: Thomas K. Mclnerny, MD, FAAPThomas McInerny, MD has been a primary care pediatrician in privatepractice in Rochester, NY for 40 years and is Professor and AssociateChair for Clinical Affairs in the Department of Pediatrics at the Universityof Rochester Medical Center. He is a graduate of Dartmouth College andHarvard Medical School and did his pediatric residency training at CincinnatiChildren’s Hospital and Boston Children’s Hospital. He has held manyelected and appointed positions in the AAP since 1987 including Presidentof Chapter I, District II, Member and chair of the Pediatric Research in theOffice Setting Steering Committee, Member and Chair of the Chapter ForumCommittee, Member and Chair of the Committee on Child Health Financing,and the Steering Committee on Quality Improvement and Management. Healso was a member of the Task Force on Mental Health which developed theAAP Mental Health Toolkit. He is a member of the American Pediatric Society and the Academic PediatricAssociation and a Certified Physician Executive and Fellow of the AmericanCollege of Physician Executives. In 2011 he was elected President of the AAP,and he served from 2012 to 2013; he is now the AAP Immediate Past President. Associate Editor: Henry M. Adam, MD, FAAPUntil recently, Dr. Henry M. Adam was a Professor of Clinical Pediatrics at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine in the Bronx, NY. After graduating Phi Beta Kappa from Hamilton College and studying as a Woodrow Wilson Foundation Fellow at Yale University, he graduated from the State University of NY-Upstate Medical Center in 1979, where he was elected to the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society. Following pediatric residency training at Mount Sinai Medical Center in NYC, he was a Fellow in general and behavioural pediatrics and then joined the faculty at Einstein. He has directed the Pediatric Outreach Program (1984-86), the AIDS Day Care Center (1987-90), and the Pediatric AIDS Primary Care Program (1990-94), all at Jacobi Medical Center. As an educator, Dr. Adam directed the pediatric residency training program at Montefiore Medical Center (1994-2002), has received the Lewis Fraad Teaching Award, and has been elected to the Leo Davidoff Teaching Society. Campbell, MD, FAAPDeborah Campbell, MD, FAAP, is Professor of Clinical Pediatricsand Associate Professor of Clinical Obstetrics & Gynecology andWomen’s Health at Albert Einstein College of Medicine, ProgramDirector for the fellowship in Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine, andDirector of the Division of Neonatology at the Children’s Hospital atMontefiore. She conducts the Low birth weight infant Evaluation andAssessment Program (LEAP) and has served various leadershiproles at the American Academy of Pediatrics, New York StateAssociation of Regional Perinatal Programs and Networks, NYC LocalEarly Intervention Coordinating Council, and Greater New York Marchof Dimes Health Professionals Advisory Board and National March ofDimes. She is a member of the Greater New York Hospital AssociationPerinatal Safety Collaborative Advisory Group, the National QualityForum Perinatal Collaborative, and the New York State Perinatal QualityCollaborative Neonatology Expert Workgroup. She also serves on theNYS Palliative Care Education and Training Council, an expert panelthat has developed guidance and advice for the New York StateDepartment of Health on best practices in pain management and end-of-life care. She served as a member on the AAP Taskforce on Implementationof Newborn Hearing Screening and the Early Hearing Detection andIntervention (EHDI) Program. Kamat, MD, PhD, FAAPDeepak Kamat, MD, PhD, FAAP, is a professor at theCarman and Ann Adams Department of Pediatrics atthe Childrens Hospital of Michigan and Wayne StateUniversity. He is also the vice chair of education,director of the Institute of Medical Education, andprogram director for the International Health Pathwayand Pediatric Global Health Certificate program. Dr.Kamat practices general pediatrics, clinical immunology,and international health. Associate Editor: Kelly J. Kelleher, MD, MPH, FAAPDr. Kelleher is Professor of Pediatrics and Public Health in the Colleges ofMedicine and Public Health at the Ohio State University, Vice President ofCommunity Health and Services Research at Nationwide Children’sHospital, and Center Director in the Center for Innovation in PediatricPractice at the Research Institute at Nationwide Children’s Hospital inColumbus, Ohio. He is a pediatrician and health services researcher focusedon improving and measuring the quality of pediatric care for high-riskchildren affected by social determinants of health, violence, neglect, alcohol,drug use, or mental disorders. He has been continuously funded by NIHsince shortly after completing his training in 1990 and is now the PI onprojects from NIMH, AHRQ, and CMS/CMMI.
