This booklet, in A to Z format, is a succinct but wide-ranging guide to the use of MRI for investigations of the knee joint. It provides easily retrievable answers to the questions that arise frequently during daily radiological practice. All relevant injuries and disorders are covered, typically with brief descriptions of pathological and clinical characteristics, guidance on selection of imaging technique, identification of potential diagnostic clues, and highlighting of useful tips and tricks. In addition, practical, state-of-the-art information is provided on other aspects of relevance. Characteristic images are included as necessary. Knee Imaging, published within the series A-Z Notes in Radiological Practice and Reporting, will be of value for both residents and general radiologists. Beyond assisting in MR reporting, it will help examination candidates in their preparation.

Dr. Marcello Osimani is a specialist in Diagnostic Imaging and a member of the Department of Radiological Sciences, Oncology and Pathology, Sapienza University of Rome, Italy. He is also a radiology consultant for orthopaedic surgeons, sport associations, and the Italian Karate Association. Dr. Osimani gained his degree in Medicine and Surgery (110/110, cum laude) from the Sapienza University in 2005 and in 2009 he completed his specialization in Diagnostic Imaging (70/70, cum laude). He combines his radiological practice with teaching and research and is the author of 13 papers in international peer-reviewed journals, as well as a number of book chapters.

Dr. Claudio Chillemi is a specialist in Orthopaedics and Traumatology who has long experience as an orthopaedic surgeon and is also a researcher at several Italian orthopaedic institutes. He graduated in Medicine in 1995 from the Catholic University of Sacred Heart in Rome and in 2000 completed his specialisation in Orthopaedics and Traumatology at the University of Ancona. He has presented original research at a number of orthopaedic congresses and is the author of 40 publications in international journals.
