  • Addresses equations, theories, and tools for chemistry, physics, materials science, and engineering with breadth and depth not available in any other single resource
  • Offers a comprehensive and in-depth treatment of the most challenging concepts of chemistry
  • Updates and revises existing chapters from the prior edition and adds: new chapters on inorganic, organic, and biochemistry; appendices about nuclides and organic reactions; and expanded questions at the end of chapters
  • Has a complementary website with a solutions manual and PowerPoint presentations for instructors

About the Topic/Technology:
Chemistry is the science of matter and the changes it undergoes. The science of matter is also addressed by physics, but while physics takes a more general, fundamental, and descriptive approach, chemistry is more specialized - concerned with the composition, behavior, structure, and properties of matter, as well as the changes it undergoes during chemical reactions.

Chemistry is a physical science because of its study of various atoms, molecules, crystals and other aggregates of matter whether in isolation or combination, which incorporates the concepts of energy and entropy in relation to the spontaneity of chemical processes.

About the Book:
Covering the basic concepts and working tools in the physical sciences, this book is a valuable guide for researchers and students in chemistry, physics, and related disciplines. The book covers the essential equations, theories, and tools needed for conducting and interpreting contemporary research.

In this new edition, the author updates and revises existing chapters and adds new chapters on inorganic, organic, and biochemistry. There are expanded end-of-chapter problems and a new online solutions manual and PowerPoint presentations for instructors using the book in their courses.

Assembling a great deal of material in one place, this book serves as a valuable guide for chemists and related physical scientists throughout their careers - covering essential equations, theories, and tools needed for conducting and interpreting contemporary research.
