Responding to the requests of scholars to make this opus magnum available again Don Juan Archiv Wien and Hollitzer Verlag publish a reprint and an e-book edition, including a portrait of the author and his work by Federica Riva.

Claudio Sartori (1913-1994), the most important Italian music bibliographer of the 20th century, was also a music historian, musicologist, music critic and translator. He conceived and realised bibliographical tools of national and international scope to access historical music documentation as comprehensively as possible, convinced that only a knowledge of the sources allows for a truthful reconstruction of the history of music.
