The Millon Inventories, Second Edition
Guilford Publications (Verlag)
978-1-59385-674-8 (ISBN)
Now in a substantially revised and expanded second edition, this important work thoroughly details the full range of clinical assessment tools developed by Theodore Millon and his associates. Presented is the most current, authoritative overview of the Millon Clinical Multiaxial Inventory (MCMI), as well as comprehensive information on widely used instruments for such specific populations as adolescents, preadolescents, medical patients, and college students. With a heightened focus on clinical practice, the second edition offers explicit guidance for linking assessment to individualized, evidence-based treatment planning and intervention. Many of the chapters are entirely new, reflecting significant research advances and the development of new inventories.
Theodore Millon, PhD, DSc, until his death in 2014, was Dean and Scientific Director of the Institute for Advanced Studies in Personology and Psychopathology. He was Founding Editor of the Journal of Personality Disorders and inaugural president of the International Society for the Study of Personality Disorders. Dr. Millon held full professorial appointments at Harvard Medical School, the University of Illinois, and the University of Miami. A prolific author, he wrote or edited more than 30 books on theory, assessment, and therapy, as well as more than 200 articles and book chapters, and developed the widely used Millon Clinical Multiaxial Inventory (MCMI). He was a recipient of the Gold Medal for Life Achievement in the Application of Psychology from the American Psychological Foundation, which annually presents the Theodore Millon Award in Personality Psychology in his honor. Caryl Bloom, PhD, has served as Assistant Dean of the Institute for Advanced Studies in Personology and Psychopathology and is currently Senior Consultant. She has taught at several graduate psychology programs in California, where she is currently on the faculty at Argosy University. A specialist in family assessment and couple therapy, Dr. Bloom has been in active clinical practice for over 20 years. Currently engaged in research studies on couple compatibility and medical diagnostic studies by nurses and medical paraprofessionals, she has contributed important ideas to the furthering of health assessment.
