A charming recreation of the miniature book by the celebrated cartoonist Fougasse from the library of Queen Mary's famous Dolls' House, on display at Windsor Castle.

This exquisite cloth-bound tiny gift edition faithfully recreates in beautiful detail the story Fougasse – the celebrated cartoonist – wrote in 1922 specially for the library of Queen Mary's Dolls' House. This charming and beautifully illustrated story tells the magical tale of a fairy blown out of Fairyland and into 1920s London. Alongside the miniature book, which measures just 30 x 40 mm, the box contains an informative booklet with a transcript and information about the Dolls' House. Queen Mary's Dolls' House is the largest and most famous in the world and has a library containing miniature works by all the major writers of the day.

Kenneth Cyril Bird used the pseudonym "Fougasse" for his work as an illustrator. He is best-known for his "Careless Talk Costs Lives" posters which he drew during WW2 for the Ministry of Information and for which he was awarded a CBE. He was editor of Punch magazine from 1949 until 1953. Fougasse died in 1965 aged 77. J. Smith is a Walker Books collaboration with Royal Collection Trust. Royal Collection Trust is a registered charity responsible for administering the Royal Collection. The aims of the Trust are the care and conservation of the Royal Collection and the promotion of public access and enjoyment through exhibitions, publications, loans and educational activities.
