She is also the director of the diabetes in pregnancy program and has ongoing research in the medical management of diabetes in pregnancy. She received her medical degree from Duke University medical school followed by a residency in obstetrics and gynecology at the Medical College of Georgia and Fellowship in Maternal -Fetal medicine at the University of Mississippi.
