First Published in 1983, this book offers a full, comprehensive guide into proteins and their functions. Carefully compiled and filled with a vast repertoire of notes, diagrams, and references this book serves as a useful reference for Students of Alternative Medicine, and other practitioners in their respective fields.

James F. Kane , Ph.D. , received his undergraduate degree from St. Joseph’s University in June of 1964. After one year of graduate work at the Biology Department of St. Louis University, he completed a Ph.D. degree in Biology, with emphasis on cellular physiology and biochemistry, at the State University of New York at Buffalo in February, 1969., Dr. Kane received an NIH Postdoctoral Fellowship (1968–70) and pursued studies in microbial physiology and biochemistry with Dr. Roy A. Jensen at the Department of Microbiology of Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas. He subsequently took a position in the Department of Microbiology at the University of Tennessee Center for Health Sciences, and remained at UTCHS until June, 1980., Presently Dr. Kane is a Senior Research Specialist in the Corporate Research Laboratories of Monsanto Company in St. Louis, Missouri. He is a member of the American Society for Microbiology and the Federation of Biological Chemists. His research interests include the evolution of multifunctional proteins and their role in regulation of cellular activity., Jean E.
