This easy-to-understand pocket guide, in the highly-respected Clark's family of radiology texts, is an invaluable tool for students, assistant practitioners and radiographers enabling them to interpret images quickly and accurately. It provides an accessible introduction to the subject in a readable style, with plentiful diagrams and photographs to support the text. Opening with an introductory overview of image interpretation and the multidisciplinary diagnostic imaging team, the book then covers interpretation for each body system including trauma, before concluding with key technical aspects an understanding of which is essential to safe and effective practice .

Alexander Peck became interested in the interpretation of imaging shortly after qualifying and being immersed in the task of finding a suitable digital replacement for the widely used analogue ‘red dot’ stickers used at Northwick Park Hospital at the time Computed Radiography began to be deployed across the London region. After meeting Jeremy Weldon, he undertook the Radiology Red Dot course in the first few weeks of starting employment as a (then Link-Grade) Radiographer. Realising that commenting and initial image interpretation was becoming more and more commonplace but finding learning resources difficult to come by, he began to source options for a focussed text covering these areas, leading to this book. Alexander holds a number of national advisory positions, and was awarded Chartered I.T. Professional status for his developments in the field of Digital Imaging and PACS. Alexander is an author or contributor in a number of other current Clark’s texts and teaches widely across the UK. Dr Amanda Jane Martin gained an MSc in Clinical Reporting of Trauma and Orthopaedics several decades ago in 1999 and worked as a Lecturer Practitioner for a number of years, being a Clinical Tutor at Royal Bolton Hospital and Programme Lead for the reporting programme at the University of Salford. Returning full time in to a clinical environment in 2007, Amanda spent 6 years in management, maintaining her reporting skills during this time, before taking on the role of Lead Radiographer. She completed a PgC Teaching and Learning in Higher Education in 2007 and a Professional Doctorate in Health and Social Care in 2011. Amanda is a keen educator and has contributed in many of the textbooks within the current Clark’s series.
