lt;p>This book provides a detailed overview of a range of simulation models that have been developed which are applicable to urology. Chapters feature critical analysis of techniques including synthetic bench top models, computer-assisted virtual reality and box simulators. Furthermore, details of best practice, the latest innovations and guidance on how to select potential low-cost options is provided, enabling the reader to systematically develop a thorough understanding of the subject.

Practical Simulation in Urology is a comprehensive resource that critically analyses the latest simulation techniques that are applicable in urology, making it an ideal resource for the practicing and trainee urologist seeking an up-to-date overview on the subject.

Mr. Biyani is a Consultant Urological Surgeon at St. James's University Hospital, Leeds, UK. He has developed expertise in stone disease and laparoscopy. Mr. Biyani trained in General Surgery in India and Urology training in the UK. He is a keen surgical trainer and has delivered courses in UK, Africa and Europe. He was instrumental in developing National Urology Simulation Boot Camp for new urology registrars. He is also Co-Lead for the Cadaveric Simulation Centre (CADSIM) at the University of Leeds.

Prof. Van Cleynenbreugel is a Urologist at Catholic University Leuven, Belgium and specialises in endoscopy, laparoscopy and robotic procedures. As a Board member of the European School of Urology he is focussed on hands on training and has led on laparoscopic training and development of the e-BLUS curriculum. He is Chair of the ESU training and research group

Prof. Alexander Mottrie is  Head of the Urology department of the OLV hospital in Aalst, Belgium, and CEO of the ORSI Academy, Melle, Belgium. He is the founding president of the EAU Robotic Urology Section (ERUS), past president of the Belgian Laparoscopic Urology Group (BLUG), founding board member and past president of the Society of Robotic Surgeons (SRS). His main fields of interest are urological oncology and minimal invasive surgery. In 2001, he was one of the first to start with robot-assisted surgery, with a track record of over 4,000 robotic procedures today. Being a pioneer in this field, he developed different important techniques and best practices that were adopted by colleagues all over the world. He introduced laparoscopic and robotic surgery in his department and under his impulse, the OLV Hospital evolved into a robotic expert center with over 650 robotic procedures per year. In 2010, Dr. Mottrie founded the ORSI Academy, a multidisciplinary center for training and expertise in minimal invasive surgery.

Prof. Dr. Mottrie is scientifically very involved. He has authored several scientific papers and is actively involved in congresses via live surgery broadcasts, Masterclasses and state-of-the-art lectures. Moreover, he is the Scientific Director of the ERUS-congresses and the Global Congresses on Prostate Cancer (Prosca). He is guest professor at the Universität des Saarlandes Homburg-Saar (Germany), the Global Robotic Institute Florida Hospital (Orlando, USA), the University of Ghent (Belgium) and the University of Leuven (Belgium).
