A series of maps which will eventually cover all of England and Wales to enable planners, developers and consultants to identify the vulnerability of groundwater to contamination. Superimposed on black and white OS maps, the easy to follow colour coding format provides information on a given area at a glance. This map should allow for better informed judgements on the location of new developments, avoiding potentially polluting activities in high vulnerability areas. The first ten maps are now available.
