With a range of superb photographs, Mark Walker looks at a variety of railway features in the varied landscape of Yorkshire. Featuring a vast amount of previously unpublished material, this book covers all corners of the county, from the sprawling metropolis of Leeds to the rolling hills of North Yorkshire and then into the industrial heartland around Wakefield and Sheffield.

The photos here span seven decades with inspiring photographs of the end of steam in the region, through the early diesels and into the corporate era and privatisation. The book also features a number of images by the late David Hey, who for many years was one of the very best railway photographers, and a number of his images included in this book have seldom been published.
