This book focuses on the use of nanoemulsion in enhanced oil recovery, along with a brief information about the emulsion and its types and different physico-chemical properties used to analyse the efficiency of the emulsions and nanoemulsions. The author discussed about the nanoemulsion, classification of emulsions and nanoemulsion and use of nanoemulsions in petroleum industry. A special attention has been laid on nanoemulsion and its advantages over commercial product, physico-chemical properties like emulsification, interfacial tension and wettability alteration study as a screening criteria for application in EOR. Given this content, this book offers an assessment for the undergraduate and postgraduate students of petroleum and chemical engineering along with the researchers working in the field of EOR. It is a subject of interest for oil and gas industry professionals.

Dr. Neha Saxena is currently working as Assistant Professor at IIMT University. She gained her B.Sc. and M.Sc. degrees from Aligarh Muslim University in 2012 and 2014, respectively, and her Ph.D. from IIT (ISM) Dhanbad. She has experience working in industry, as well as her academic positions. She has co-authored two books, numerous journal articles and conference papers, two of which she was awarded prizes for. Dr. Amit Kumar is currently working as Assistant Professor in the Department of Petroleum Engineering and Geoengineering, Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Petroleum Technology, Jais, Amethi. He has completed his Ph.D. on topic Synthesis and Characterization of Zwitterionic Surfactant for Application in Enhanced Oil Recovery in July 2020 from Indian Institute of Technology (Indian School of Mines), Dhanbad. Prior to his Ph.D., he completed his graduation in Petroleum Engineering and postgraduation in Petroleum Management as dual degree course from Indian School of Mines, Dhanbad. He has authored several papers in international SCI journals. His research area of interest includes enhanced oil recovery and reservoir simulation. Dr. Ajay Mandal is Professor and Head of Department of Petroleum Engineering, Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Dhanbad. He is awarded with FRSC Fellow Award from RSC. He has co-authored many books, numerous journal articles and conference papers, for which he has been awarded prizes, and has wide experience in academics of almost 20 years and 150+ publications in reputed journals.
