Richard Jones joined Army in the 1960s he later became personally and professionally involved with small-calibre weapons and ammunition. In 2001 became custodian of perhaps the world's most comprehensive Working Reference collection of small arms, spanning the years 1850 to the present time at the UK Ministry of Defence Pattern Room.
