Carol Doak discovered her love of quilting in 1979 when she took a seven-week basic quilting class in Worthington, Ohio. She taught that class the following year and discovered that she also loved to teach others how to make quilts. Since then she has taught more than a million people to quilt through her best-selling books and DVDs and by traveling to teach around the world. An innovator in the industry, Carol continues to wow the quilting world with her creative uses for paper piecing. Since writing her first paper-piecing book in 1993, she has designed more than a thousand paper-pieced designs. In 2009, the readers of Quilter's Newsletter magazine named her "Favorite Paper-Piecing Teacher." Her passion for designing and teaching is evident, whether you have taken a class from her or learned from her books and DVDs. Carol lives with her family in Salem, New Hampshire, where the cold winters give her a reason to stockpile fabric for insulation purposes.
