Brings together around 100 examples of the latest electronic devices. The products, including a few concept models, are drawn from manufacturers and designers internationally, and are discussed and illustrated with colour photographs and annotated drawings which explain their workings.
The speed at which technology is currently advancing has made the creation of electronic products one of the most prolific aspects of contemporary design. Product styling, too, has become increasingly innovative. This book brings together approximately 100 examples of the latest, most sophisticated electronic devices, including personal/domestic applicances, home/office products, televisions, sound equipment and the latest in wearable technology. The products, including a few concept models, are drawn from manufacturers and designers internationally, and are discussed and illustrated with colour photographs and annotated drawings which explain their workings.

Mel Byars is the author of the highly successful series of six volumes that included 50 Chairs, 50 Lights and 50 Products. He teaches design history at the Pratt Institute in New York and wrote the seminal reference work. The Design Encyclopedia (1994). He has written other books on 20th-century and contemporary design and is a contributor to periodicals including Blueprint, i-D and Metropolitan Home. He is the editorial director of designzine.com, the online newsstand for design.
