Knowledge of equine physiology is essential if you are to care for your horse. With three-dimensional and moveable models and illustrations, this book allows the student to experience the intricate workings of the horse's structure and internal systems: the muscles contract, the limbs move, the heart beats and the lungs expand and contract.
A sound knowledge of equine physiology is essential if you are to care for your horse effectively but it is not always easy to understand. "The Equine Body" makes the subject easier to absorb by the innovative use of full colour, easy-to-assemble three-dimensional and moveable models and illustrations. These allow the student to experience the intricate workings of the horse's structure and internal systems: the muscles contract, the limbs move, the heart beats and the lungs expand and contract. Clear, practical text complements the detailed illustrations. This innovative and fascinating project book is an essential educational workbook for students and is also invaluable for the horse owner wishing to gain a fuller understanding of how the horse's body actually works.

Beth Maloney was trained by Jennie Loriston-Clarke at Catherston Stud and studied for her HND in Equine Studies at Warwickshire College. She lectured for five years at Oaklands College in equine science and nutrition to students with a range of abilities from National Certificate through to HND. Beth is now the Director of Studies for Horses & Courses, an open-learning equine studies training centre, and is also a BHS Internal Verifier, holds a Certificate of Education, the BHSAI and the BHS Intermediate Stable Manager's certificate. Beth Maloney is the author of Nutrition and Feeding of Horses and has written articles for Horse Magazine. She runs her own yard and competes in dressage competitions on her own horses.
